TESTIMONY: It's sad how many people rent films solely from the "New Release" racks. They are convinced that if they sat through a classic film, they'd be bored stiff. Classic movie fans don't live in the past. They hold dear what's truly of value. A good classic movie fills my soul with uplifting messages that I can later discuss. Too many films made these days teach us to be self-absorbed, bitter and jaded. People don't realize how much films, books, and music impact our lives. This is why I steer toward the classics. After I've watched one, I don't have to say to my friends or family, "It was really good, except for these two parts." Since you're here reading my profile, you probably already know how important it is to choose classic films over modern ones. So, I hope you'll join me in educating as many people as possible. I guarantee you that your enlightening others about classic films will enrich your life.



This is a photo of Lewis Croft and me taken in his home in July of 2000. Lewis played a Munchkin soldier in The Wizard of Oz (1939). Believe it or not, I'm not that short. It's true that I am standing next to someone who was once billed under the collective name The Singer Midgets. However, Lewis grew the year after the film was released and was no longer considered Munchkin height. He was still under five feet tall, which is what I measure. He was a lovely man and enjoyed talking about the old days and the three different actors at Oz conventions who all claim to have played the mayor. Lewis did not. He was too honest for that.
